Assistant trainer Eric Van Meir has yesterday extended his contract with Lierse for a further two years. Eric will remain assistant trainer, but will additionally assist with the coaching of the reserves.

CEO Jesse De Preter: “The extension of Eric's contract was logical. Such a club icon, with experience such as Eric has, we should cherish him and hold onto him. He will also now have responsibility for the reserves, and that's also normal. That is an important pool of talent for us in seeing who is ready for the First team.”
Eric Van Meir: “Of course I'm happy. Lierse has become my second home. We are at Lierse together working on a very good project, and I want to continue to work on that.”
