Jurgen Cavens, K. Lierse S.K. en K.V. R.S. Waasland - SK Beveren have today reached agreement on a definitive transfer to Waasland.

Jurgen is a real Lierse youth product. He made his debut as a 17-year ols in the Lierse first team and was later part of the Championship winning team in 1997 and the Cup winning team in 1999.

CEO Jesse De Preter: “It really hurts me to see a club monument - which Jurgen Cavens is - see leave. Jurgen has been part of a number of absolute high points in our club history and without him we might not even be playing in First Division now. In principal you hope that such players can finish their career on a high at the club. Seeing as Jurgen has often not been in the first team squad this season and that he still wants to play on a regular basis, it was really the best solution for both parties to let Jurgen leave for another club. Jurgen always had supporters either for or against him, that proves that you mean something as a player. We hope to see Jurgen regularly back at the Lisp and sincerely wish him every success at his new club.”
