On Wednesday afternoon Lierse drew 3-3 at Racing Genk.
De Wree put Lierse ahead with a header, but Barda and Camus scored in quick succession for Genk. Camacho then equalised, 2-2, and Janssens put Lierse back in front just before the break, 2-3. Straight after half time Vossen equalised, 3-3. Both teams still had chances to score the winning goal, but it finished 3-3.

During the pre-match warming up Dodo Elgabas was forced to drop out with a hamstring problem. Kevin Janssens, returning from injury, therefore made his comeback.

Lierse began the match strongly, and were ahead after only 3 minutes. Corner Dequevy, De Wree with a back header from the left hand edge of the 6-yard box, 0-1. Genk immediately countered: De Bruyne down the left flank, his low cross flashing across the area for the unmarked Barda to fire home: 1-1. In the meantime, Wahed needed treatment on the touchline for an ankle injury, and was replaced by Job. The next chance was for Lierse, quick counter via Radzinski and Dequevy, but Joeri's shot was too weak at keeper Casteels. At the other end though, Ogunjimi with a ball in through the back of the Lierse defence and Camus scored from close range: 2-1.
Lierse looked a bit stunned at this point, and were forced back. Shot from distance from Toth, Kawashima with a fine save. Lierse recovered, good long ball from Mensah, Radzinski through on goal, but waited too long, and his shot was blocked for a corner. The resultant corner was well taken by Janssens, and again Lierse scored with a header on the near post, Camacho flicking into the far corner (2-2). Just before the break a free kick for Lierse from 20 metres out, Kevin Janssens curled the ball superbly into the top left hand corner of the net, 2-3 after a spectacular first half.

Frank Vercauteren changed his whole eleven at half time, Anthuenis brought on Kujovic and Van Hemert in place of Kawashima and De Wree. Genk scored with their first chance of the half, Huysegems left Van Hemert for dead, laid off to Vossen, who fired into the far corner, 3-3. Dugary constantly caused problems for Lierse on the right wing, his cross found Vossen, whose shot was blocked. The next chance was for Lierse, Sekour launching a counter attack, Cavens and Radzinski combining nicely, but Jurgen fired the chance high over. Straight after Job laid onto Cavens with his head, now Lierses top scorer from last season saw his shot go just wide. Then it's time for the highlight of the match, Dugary with a piece of sublime skill to go past de Graef, but his cross is too weak. After Kujovic came out too far, Vossen with a sight on goal, but he decided to cross and the danger was cleared. Ten minutes from time, a chance for Lierse to score the winner. Substitute Douala with a cross from the right, but Radzinski's shot from close range goes over. Two further chances at the other end, Huysegems through alone against Kujovic, but he parries the shot. Just before the final whistle, Toszer hits the base of Kujovic's right hand post from a free kick.
