In a very poor quality match Lierse drew 0-0 at relegation threatened Beveren on Friday evening.

Apart from the last 15 minutes, Lierse didn't do enough to deserve more than a point from the match. Zo A disappointing first game in charge for new trainer Aimé Anthuenis.

A below par Lierse in the first half, and they failed to create a single goalscoring chance of note. Beveren had one good chance, Kokot through alone on Kujovic, who made an excellent save.

In the second half a slight improvement from Lierse, but it was Beveren who had the best chance to win the match. A harsh penalty award against Dreesen for handball. Kujovic assured the Lierse man of the match plaudits by diving low to his right to keep out Rentmeister's penalty kick. In the last quarter of an hour, Lierse came very close to snatching the three points, but keeper Lemmens made a couple of fine saves to ensure the match ended goalless.

Lierse draw level at the top of the table with KVSK United, who host Antwerp on Saturday evening.
