At the other end, Lokeren scored with their first chance. On 12 minutes Lambot in possession, Harbaoui was given too much space and fired high into the net: 1-0. Lierse were not put out of their stride and responded with a shot from Frans that was stopped by Lazic. On 25 minutes a corner from Hairemans, Elgabas just unable to guide the ball into the net with his header. Shortly afterwards Farag pushed forward. Lazic saving his shot at the second attempt. Adesanya coming alongside Hazurov up front, Ayew and Farag moving up into midfield. Lierse immediately went in search of a goal to get back in the match, but a bad pass by Wils in front of his own goal was punished by Harbaoui, who duly completed his hat trick: 3-0. Lierse somewhat lost their way after this, Sels forced into two good saves from shots from Harbaoui and De Ceulaer. Hazurov brought some interest back in the match midway through the half, when played through by Farag, 'Kosta' scored a fine goal from distance: 3-1. The last 20 minutes of the match were for Lierse. Substitute Spaenhoven produced some danger, Dequevy picked up his deflected cross, and curled a shot towards the top far corner, which Lazic saved superbly. The last chance of the match was again for Lierse, but Hazurov was unable to get enough power on a header from a cross from Heymans.
