Lierse.com garnered some comments after the home defeat by Kortrijk

Joeri Dequevy:
We started today very well, but you could see a loss of confidence after falling behind. Ultimately we were fortunate to only be 0-1 down at halftime. But the season is still long, and the confidence will come when the first points arrive. We have to go all out at Genk, that's imperative.
I think that I'm in a team with more quality this year than last year, but the table doesn't lie. Not that I played badly, but I still haven't found my best form yet.

Aimé Anthuenis:
Kortrijk showed more maturity today. There was a shortfall of automation andintelligence in our play sometimes today. But I certainly can't fault my players for lack of effort.

We're having incredibly bad luck in defence. We alraedy had a half fit Van Hemert and Vandooren and De Wree unavailable. Now Frans is out. We don't know for how long, but it doesn't look good. But we're working on it.

The better points tonight? A feather in the cap for newcomers Benjamin  Nicaise and Daylon Claasen. Our debutants did outstandingly well.

The penalty was our undoing. Without that we had a chance to at least  share the points. What now, with no points from four matches? Our fixtures in the coming weeks are very difficult. We knew before the start of the season that it was a difficult run of games, but we have to try and get the maximum number of possible points. As expected the change from second division level to first division is not easy, and we need time to adapt.

We know that we were not as good defensively today, and we're looking for strengthening in that area. Herman Helleputte, our technical director, is not in Norway for nothing at the moment.
Mensah had to play right back for a time and Davids in the middle because we wanted to apply more pressure going forwards. But Davids already played for weeks at right back because we had nobody else.

Why did Dodo Elgabas not play? He was passed fit for the game, but suffered a back injury in the warm up.

Benjamin Nicaise:
We played a very good first twenty minutes, but had difficulty after they scored. Kortrijk were very well organised. We have to work hard towards next weekend and ensure that we take on board all that has happened today. You also have to take into account that we now have a squad of players from different divisions and countries. Logically that needs time to adapt. But I'm  convinced that it will come right.

We knew that it would be diffcult and that's apparent. It won't get any easier either. For me personally I'm happy to have played for an hour. The agreement was that I would play for one half, but because it was going well I stayed on the pitch longer. Now I'll build on my playing time in each match.

Sven Kums (Kortrijk):
We've strengthened well on our squad from last season and that's been noticeable for some weeks. It was a fantastic evening for us, but I find it a shame for Lierse that they are bottom of the league. I hope that they can recover quickly. The Lierse home support made it very difficult for us in the opening fifteen minutes. Fortunately we were rewarded for our counter play.
