After a short night the Lierse group gathered together on New Years Day for breakfast.  Afterwards we   left for Cairo, and arrived at our destination around midday, the Gizeh Pyramids. They remain an impressive feat of architecture, and there were plenty of photos taken by both players and staff. For lunch we visited the second Wadi Degla Multisports-complex. This sports centre is situated in Caïro itself, whilst the first complex, where the Lierse squad trained last year, is in Maadi. After a tasty meal the group was split in two, some went back to the hotel, others went on a shopping trip. The Stars shopping centre is an impressive complex, divided over 2 'courts' each of seven floors. After the shopping the evening dinner was held in Marina Wadi Degla.

On Friday there were no scheduled activities. most of the players headed to the beach. Beautiful weather and 18 degrees. Some went sunbathing, others played beach volleyball, or a boat trip or jetski. The baechbar was the location for lunch at 3pm. A free afternoon followed, with dinner at 9pm.

From Saturday is relaxation over, and the first training session will take place. Two sessions are planned, both on the beach.
